I frequently watch speakers corner videos and many of the people involved in dawaa there claim that arab rulers aren’t kuffars and it is not permissible to make takfir on them or to protest against them. And they seem so sure about it, guys like Shamsi act very confident when speaking on this matter. I find all their arguments weak. And most importantly, it goes against the verse :
“. . . And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed, such are the kaafiroon (disbelievers)”
But because I am a very careful person, I don’t follow the first opinion I hear regarding something. The matter of religion is serious and the stakes are infinitely high. Religion is the way to eternal paradise or eternal hell…
This is why, even though I am leaning towards that they are wrong, I don’t say that these people are misguided, and still haven’t completely made up my mind about this subject. There is perhaps a chance that I didn’t understand the verse correctly or didn’t understand it’s context, and that the madkhali scholars have understood it properly in light of the rest of the Quran and Sunnah.
So I guess what I am looking for in this post is for someone to share the best ressources defending the position of the madkhalis (even if you think it’s false) and the best ones refuting it. This way I can make an informed and careful decision as to which one is the correct one.
